I have fitted a simple chain and spring door closer but the door only closes to about 4 inch from fully shut. It's just like when a door is binding on the hinges.
However, if the door is closed manually it shuts easily.
I have tried various adjustments to the spring tension, but this has no effect on the position at which the door comes to rest.
I did drill the cylinder hole badly and it is at a slight angle to the door face causing hole in skin but I can't see that this would be the cause ( actually needs filling on the face but wife has not noticed yet) .
Any suggestions, please?
