Hi all,
I have just built and installed a new door frame in a corridor in our house.
One wall is pretty much square and the frame meets the wall along its entire length (a bit of caulk to fill the gap and all will be good)
However, the opposite wall bows slightly so that the frame meets the wall and the top and bottom but there is as much as a 10mm gap in the middle. I have fixed the frame securely using custom cut timber spacers but I now need to fill/hide the gap left by the bowing wall.
I feel the gap is a bit wide and too deep to use caulking successfully (but I am prepared to be advised or corrected) I could face the frame with another piece of timber - but this would either had to be cut to match the shape of the wall (difficult along such as long slim length) or bent to the shape of the wall and pinned in place - but this would then leave a wavy line down the edge in contact with the frame.
Does anyone have any bright ideas about how to make this look nice?
