Got a door frame from Arnold Laver, the rebated type that slots together.

The size of the rebate is a smidgen less than 31", 780mm wide....

Joiner thinks we'll need to special order a door to fit. Why would they sell a door frame that would need a special order door?

the nearest size seems to be 762mm wide door, a door of that size would leave 18mm gap at the sides. Is this too much?

A good tradesman would have dry assembled the frame and checked the dimensions before final assemble. But you have already been told this in not so many words on another forum. (not by me)

I can tell you a way to get out of the problem but again you have been told this on another forum. (not by me)

What’s the rebate depth of a fire rated door ? Is it 25mm ?

On you invoice what size is stated for the frame?
