our door was working fine, we have a upvc back door, it locks and unlocks fine, the key turns no prob, we have slide bolts top and bottom, thats if its the same mech as front door, the bolts move up and down, and on door frame there are two metal plates for each bolt, the top of the door seems to be some give, but the bottom is jammed fast, the door has hinges with pins, but i dont think its going to be that easy to take pins out, not much gap for top and bottom hinges between wall frame, any suggestions, budget is tight so any help would be much apprehiated.

cheers :(

I've doing quite of few these lately and does sounds like your door need Toe and Heel method, see here for more details.

You say it locks/unlocks fine - when you push the handle down to open, can you hear the mechanism moving? Is the handle "floppy"? This is likely to be either a failed mechanism, or if the door has dropped then the bottom mushroom/roller can't release from the strike plate.

yes you can here the mech ok, i opened the door in the morning and it was fine, when out came back, went to open door it was jammed it seems to be the bottom thats stuck, we could take door off but it trying to get the pins out from the hinge butts, somehow we need to knock the pins up hopefully without bending them, so we can take door off, but its knowing what is best to use to do this.

cheers jan

I'm guessing the door dropped a bit? You can check this corner to corner with a tape measure to see if it's out of square.
