Just a quick one as I can't find anything definite on the web.

At work they have just refurbished the toilets and put in new toilet cubicles. There are three cubicles next to each other, they are joined together and supported by a piece of angle metal running across the top with one of the sides pointing down.

I'm about 6'2" so tall but not really tall, and I keep banging my head on them! They're just at the wrong height so you don't really notice them but you go under them then as you rise in step the sharp edge of the angle wacks you on the top of the head.

Anyway, I wanted to complain but didn't know if they had to do anything? Should they have been built to a certain height? If so has anyone got any links to anything which quotes any building regs etc?

There are no regulations on this.

What you should do every time you bang your head, is have it formally recorded in the accident book under RIDDOR - as an injury or as a 'near miss'

Also speak to your manager or H&S rep

Edit:
I should have added that when its recorded a number of times then the company will have to take action to prevent the frequent occurrences

There is no minimum headroom required by Building Regulations in a domestic environment but as yours is a place of work, it might be worth checking Health & Safety legislation.
