dot & dab adhesion

Hi,
I am about to dot & dab 12.5mm plasterboard to brickwork which has previously been painted. Some of the brickwork is painted with a smooth gloss type paint and some with what looks like emulsion.
What should I do to insure a good grip for my drywall adhesive ?
thanks, george

Bonding agents such as thistle bondit, bluegrit and wba is is good for this , we used it on 12 rooms we dot and dabbed in an army barracks, to save money you only have to put the bonding agent where the dabs are going
