hi everyone, just wanted some advice, please.we've recently built a conservatory and are at the stage of sorting out the wall, which was the external wall of the house.it's brick, painted with sandtex.we were originally going to have a go at plastering it,but after reading the posts here we quite like the idea of dot n dabbing the plasterboard on,filling the joints and painting it.as there is a 6' window and 6' patio doors, there's really not much wall at all,but what i'm not sure about is how to finish it around the window and doors.we were thinking of wooden battens witht the plasterboard butted up to it,or is there a better way.any ideas would be much appreciated.thanks.

Sorry to be blunt but if you’ve not fixed & filled taper edge boards before, your efforts will almost certainly look a mess & you will always see the joins; & butting the boards up to timber battens around the window & door will look like a typical DIY bodge job.

Dry line it out with plasterboard & skim it; if you’re not confident about DIY, get it done professionally. You probably paid a fair bit for the conservatory, why not do a proper job to finish it off; it will be a bit more expensive but it will look 1000 times better!
