Hi,
first time poster, so please excuse me if this sounds stupid!
I have an opening across my drive which I have built double wooden gates about 6 foot high. My problem is high wind blowing gates open, and this morning actually breaking 3 of the down pieces off. I don't use the drive, but need access for bins, etc, and the main reason for the gates is to stop the kids getting out the garden when they are playing..
Should I:
1. Make the gaps in the gates wider to allow the wind to blow through, rather than catching like a kite.
2. Fit heavy springs to keep the gates closed (would this work?).
3. Mixture of 1 and 2.
4. forget about gates in the winter!
Thanks in advance for all your assistance.
Cheers,
Graham.
