I want to replace a central kitchen light fitting with a arm of spotlights - but there is no earth wire in the ceiling wiring (old house)and my electrician said I must have douple insulated light fitting to be safe, but I cannot find anything suitable - can you help?
i agree with breezer... time for a replacement of wires technical term for (Rewire)
however there are light fittings that are doubly insulated out there.
If it was me though i would prefer to have the option of having earth wire and then trim back if the fittings were double insulated oppossed to having to get double insultaed light fittings.
If your light fittings have no earth i would presume that the socket circuits also have no earth...
