hi, i want to replace a light switch in my living room, at the moment its a standard switch with 2 switches on it, basically it controls a chandalere type light with 5 bulbs and at the moment 1 switch controls 2 bulbs and the other contorls the other 3. i want to replace the switch with a single dimmer in order to control all 5 bulbs simultaneously. the wiring at the moment consits of red, blue, yellow and an earth. Can any one help.

Hi Martyn
At the moment you have two single switches, so you need to join the two commons together from the separate switches to the common of the dimmer. Now if one of the commons has a link to the other common then just use the one wire and you won’t then need the link wire.
The two other wires from the two L1s go together in the L1 of the dimmer.
