Hi,

I have fitted downlights once before (a few years ago now) and so when I purchased my new lights from homebase (http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=110&storeId=10151&partNumber=866444&alt_cmp=859308) I thought it would be as easy as it was the first time....and I was very wrong!!

I have drilled the holes (x5) and fitted the fittings.....I have just been up in the loft so i could get a better look at the wiring and began the task of putting connecting the lights. When I switched the LX back on the lights worked...bingo...but when I pulled the cord to turn them off it tripped the fuse. :?

Do I need a transformer? Have I wired these incorrectly? The three mains wires which powered the single light before haven't broken the loop for the rest of the house so why is this a problem?

Please help as currently the upstairs of my house is very dark :?

Thanks,
