Downlighters

I'd say it depends on the decor but be prepared for a certain few posters to add another option for you to consider - neither.

I know alot of people say none but Im having a central chandeleir and just a few in alcoves and a bay area. Will be going for MR11 items. Just looked at a prestigous development locally and they seem to use the everywhere, but mainly in white for some reason. I have a polished fireplace and rads that may be polished but not sure as yet.

Yes I noticed that, I had a good look 2nite. They looked like CFL's. I switched them off and on again and they came on instantly again. I wasnt sure if they were CFLs they would take a while or is this only from cold? Sorry for my ignorance.

That explains that one then! Cant see any on Mr Resistor. Is the best place Megaman and is this teh way to go you think?

True! It was a very plush development too with a swimming pool in the basement and sparkling lights embedded in the ceiling. Not sure what these were. CFL's way to go though over Halogen?

Thats really interesting reading. Im using them for wallwashing also, wasnt sure if CFLs would be up to this, but it looks like they do use them for this purpose after seeing the new development this evening.

hey give excellent clean light after their warmup period of about 2 minutes. They are well suited to long-period lighting - hours at a time. Dont go for the dimmable CFLs though - there have been bad reports about lamp life.

Ah thats what Id like to do, dim them down. Maybe just opt for energy efficient halogens. I was goin to use 35w items.
