Downlights.... Have a problem

Ok I was round at the house again this morning, measuring the holes in the ceiling they are 70mm when they should be 65mm is this enough of a gap to cause a problem? Just get a set of downlights that need a 70mm hole?

I initially measured the size of one of the cut outs but obviously this will be smaller than the hole, sorry for the missinformation.

Look at the lights wearing a pair of very dark sunglasses to remove the glare.

The halo may not a real ring of escaping light but is instead an optical illusion caused by the very bright spot of light being too much for your eye to cope with.

Thanks for the imput... Is draft excluding strip fireproof? Is there any kind of fire resistant sealant that could be used.

I know its going to be difficult to rectify as whole panels of cieling will need to be replaced and the holes recut

Its definitely not an illusion the light is leaking out and its not something I could or would want to live with.

I rang the spark this mornign and said I wasn't happy with how it looks and that light is comeing from the edge of the fitting, he is coming on Monday to have a look. If I am not happy with the work whats the best way to go about rectifying the situation and not starting a fight?

The correct option is to allow him to try to rectify the problem in an acceptable manner. Try and stay friendly and calm but assertive.

Will do I don't want any hasstle I simply want the job done that I paid for, the joys of a home owner.......
