I live in a modern detached house and am looking to fit new hologen downlights into my livingroom which currently has three wall lights that I want to do away with completely. What is the best way to wire up the downlights without lifting up the flooring to the bedroom above? The ceiling is of plasterboard construction with chipboard flooring above.

Can't find it for the moment, but there is a cutter (for routers) and template that is used to cut access holes in floorboards. There is a ring which drops into the hole, and the part cut out of the hole, drops into the ring. You may be able to do it by cutting strategic holes.

you want one of these

you then fish from one light to the other.

problem is you will have to dissconnect the wall lights so the flor may have to come up after all
