Downlights

I have 4 x 50watt 240 volts downlights,which have been working fine for about three months.These are on the landing.When i went to switch them on from the hall.No lights,so i tried the landing switch.Still nothing.

So far i have checked the fuse box
Removed the helogen blubs,replace with new one just in case
Put a tester in the helogen holder(Which lights up i/e live)

So there is live from the switch in the hall to landing switch,then to the down lights.
Still no lights.
This one has me beat??

Taking what you write as correct I would assume a loose/disconnected Neutral - likely at the first downlight on the landing circuit - or possibly a junction box somewhere - if the other lights upstairs are working.

However, what did you use to test?
If it was a neon screwdriver, the result (live) may be unreliable.
