Hi,
I have some downloghts in my kitchen that I want to replace with some LED ones I have acquired from a family member after they had their kitchen refurbished.
My current downlights (pics 1) are powered from the mains via the fused switch (pic 2) which is a 2 core cable with no earth and it goes into the electronic converter (pic 3).
The lights I'm replacing them with look like they were powered from a plug socket as opposed to from the mains and the cable is earthed to the metal casing (pic 4).
My question is do I need to earth the lights if I run the new ones from the isolator switch and just use a 2 core 0.75mm cable to link them? Or should these be earthed? I can see the double insulated logo on the lights so I'm thinking they do not need to be?
Thanks in advance for your help.
