DPM trimming/tidying

hi guys n gals,

a whilst back a builder installed some new French doors and the dpm sticks up about 1cm above the floorboards inside.

we are currently laying a new kitchen floor, requiring the laying of ply, and I was wondering if it is ok to trim the dpm back level with the floorboards?

any feedback welcome
