Hi everyone

I’m pretty confused about what to do with the dpm under my doors in our barn conversion. The roll that the door fitters put down is loose, I can almost get my finger under the doors in some places, so I am not sure what to do. I have been told to fold it up on the inside and pin it with the wood floor that’s going in, but I’m worried about water tracking into the inside either under or over the Dpm under the doors? , if over, then it could sit on the inside of the oiled oak door frames and cause an issue. If under, it could get to our floor.

any advice on the normal way to leave this would be appreciated! The floor is glue down, no underlay, so I don’t want to get this wrong and have the floor ruined by incoming rainwater

If the joint is sealed under the cill on the outside face, as it should be, then there will be no problems and you can just cut it off flush with the back of the cill

I’m not sure it is, what would you seal it with if it’s not?

Yes that or a silicone or suchlike described as being suitable for external use. Yes to cutting the DPC back.
