drain a boiler

i have a small leak in one of the pipes coming from my boiler, i may have to loosen the fitting to put tape or boss white on it, if i loosen the nut it will still have water in it so how will i drain the water from the pipe to repair it ???

Find a drain cock on the radiator circuit drain via a hose, you only need to drain enough to reduce the pressure to Zero, use an OLD bath towel to catch what water is left in the boiler. ;)

In Scotland most will be outside (we have mainly timber ground floors and solums)
