Hello all :D

I have a drain grate cover to replace after some cheeky chappies nicked the existing one.

It is located at the back of a building which has vehicle access, but only biog enough for a car or small van, and certainly is not a roadway or thouroughfare.

I was wondering if grates come in different grades for different traffic ratings etc?

I don't want to end up putting in a super expensive motorway grade one, if a cheaper light traffic version is available.

I presume the local builders merchants would be the first port of call for this? What should I be asking for?

The existing hole is about 12" - 14" square, but can be adjusted a bit to suit.

Hah, wondered why FlayNastyTaliban hadn't been seen for a day or so

You can get different grades of grating: light, medium, heavy and ultra heavy.

Light, medium and heavy duty is the norm.

These are available in plastic (light duty) so these may not be as desirable to ******. Either way, get one whch screws down
