Drain off tails

I bought 2 recently but not until I fitted one that it dawned on me that these are really only useful for draining the rad not the system as they sit higher than the pipework. I ditched them and opted for the usual drain cock soldered into a tee, kind of seems a pointless product, just something else with the potential to leak.

They are as useful as a combined lockshield/drainoff valve with the advantage of allowing draining the individual radiator.

Do you tend to fit them on every radiator drop. Even if in say the lounge? Or are they seem as insightly
I've fitted them on each of my drops in the lounge - I don't consider them unsightly, but that may just be me!
