draining a microbore central heating system.

hello,i am wanting to drain my central heating system so i can add a towel warmer,there is a pipe coming from the attic into the boiler and on the pipe is a drain off tap do i just go in the attic and stop the supply to this pipe and then open the drain off tap,is it that simple,cheers.
 
You need to post more info...is the boiler a combi? system? heat only?, cylinder fitted? pump? gravity fed?
