Ive connected a hosepipe and begain draining from the radiator downstaris closest to the door. The flow isnt that fast really, kinda like a half open tap. How long should it take to completely drain so i can remove a radiator? (its a 4 bedroom house if that helps)

Thanks :D

you do not need to drain a whole CH system down to remove a radiator.

if you start to open the radiator vents (start with the highest) then the air will force the water out of the system (will drain faster and fully) - also make sure your motorised valve is in the MANUAL OPEN position, so the system drains fully.

If you want to drain your whole system, you may need to drain more than one part - you may have more than 1 drop in other words - how many drain valves do you have on your system?

thanks for the info. ive got a few drain off points, but i used just one and it took 30mins to finish draining. I removed the radiator and replaced both valves, fixed it all back together then repressurised and so far so good! cheers guys.
