Draining down a heating system?

howya!!

i want 2 take down a rad becoz tiler going tiling the wall..just want 2 no do i just make sure dat d boiler is turned off before i start draining down is dat all i need 2 do before i start??

an when im filling back up will i get much boder with air locks??

tank in attic feeding d heating...oil boiler

any help would be sound...tanx
