We have a drive gently sloping towards the house, the tarmac is shot, and there's no sub base to speak of, so we've decided to dig out, full spec type 1 base, and gravel until finances allow clay pavers (probably never as total area 180m2!).

The tarmac drive currently drains into a combined sewer. Our ground is impermeable so I'm keen not to send a whole heap of water heading towards our house.

Are there any surface drain solutions compatible with gravel or is my only option a well constructed perforated land drain, into a trap before discharging into the mains?
