I've been trying to get my council rates band amended, nearly two years now planning have finally got back to me & asked for a scaled plan within 15days.
I have replied to their email & said they could gave asked that a long time ago & that I cannot do it in the time scale.
They have allowed me longer, but what I am looking for now is something that I can use and is FREE.
My other option is to use graph paper and scan it.
Anyone got any free programs they use.
TIA

https://www.planup.co.uk/ - try the free trial, but I'm not sure how free it is.

I'm certain this company took over a brilliant floor plan app I used to use, as the format and controls look identical - if so, it's very easy to produce plans in short time.

MS Visio is underrated and good for floor plans and layouts

Otherwise, a quick google brings up quite a few plan drawing apps for free, online and on mobile.

I've used LibreOffice Draw (the free equivalent of MS Visio) for years as a very rough and dirty version of CAD...

You can draw to scale, it's vector-based (i.e. not like Paint!) and you can make things look reasonably presentable. It's completely free, it also includes a superb word processor, spreadsheet etc etc. All nice and simple, does everything you need without the needless nonsense you get in Office 365 or whatever it's called these days, that Microslop charges stupid money for.

Honestly I find the 3D drawing packages (Sketchup etc) baffling, but lots of people do use them.

An example of my sort of muddling about in Libreoffice Draw...

You can output in PDF to send to anyone else. The grid lines only show on screen, the above is a screenshot.
