I had an extension done and the builder broke a pipe and covered it up which caused a flood later.
He didn't want to know so now we are taking him to the small claims court.
Rated People have no idea who is good or bad. They cannot police their site because because if they did they would contact all consumers for feedback....I mean CONSUMER feedback not friends and relatives. When I first complained to RP they were not really interested but after I hounded them they looked into it and ultimately said that they had taken him off the site??
The builder has about 5 5* ratings and my bad rating. I think the 5 others must be friends of his because, seriously I could have done a better building and joinery job on my extension myself....and I am an elderly woman!!

Rated people is full of cowboys and dodgy tradesmen. Not all but majority of them.

We don't stand a chance really! I am always careful about the people who do any jobs for me and I thought that I could trust Rated People...1st mistake...second one was believe that the reference he gave me was genuine but apparently not!

Utility room. This was three years ago and has been going on this long. It cost 6K something plus windows minus roof, which thank God a specialist flat roofer put up. It cost the earth but should last a very long time.

It was my experience that all these so called qualifying outfits from FMB's to Trusted criminals or whatever were simply sales people under another name - "Gimme the money" "Gimme the money" Gimme the money and dont worry about qualifications, Tax, VAT or insurance - sort it later, just gimme the money and you are in.

Their sole purpose is to make money for themselves. Perhaps you gentle readers have heard that most people will do almost anything for money.

We were called in to fix countless of their jobs - one guy used to send 16yr olds on the bus with bags of sand and cement - another climbed a drain pipe (RWP) to access a roof. Way to go.

These scams typically consist of two guys in a spare bed room with two phones and a computor. The same two guys who last week were selling brushes door to door.

Everything on recommendation sites can be scammed - everything.
