Drill bit / dowel drill combined

I am sure I have seen these being sold somewhere (maybe norm used on on "this old house") but I wondered if its possible to buy a drill but that also came with a drill bit that also used to create a same size dowel from the same bit of wood ?

I am just about to fit a newel post that I need to put a screw though and after I have finished I would like to use an off cut of the wood to create a dowel that I can then put into the same hole so that I cant see the original screw hole - If you see what I mean !

Anyone help or know what they are called ?

Are you talking about plug cutters???

See the link below. Fit slightly proud and use a sharp chisel to bring it flush.
