Drill slipping - fixable???

Have a black and decker rechargeable drill/driver. The bits have started to slip quite easily - I don't mean the clutch/torque but the bits actually become loose in the keyless chuck, even when fully tightened. Does this mean it's knackered. Anyway to give it a bit more life?

I think I might have ever-stressed it causing this!?

Make sure the shank of your drill bits are not worn from previosu slippage, if they are the chuck will struggle to hold onto them.

If they are fine, fit a replacement chuck.
