I am a complete novice, I have wall's in my bathroom that are tiled in those sheets of little (mosaic) tiles. I want to put up a large mirror, and a shower screen.
I have a corded and cordless drill, and have a section of drill bits. I have been told I need to use a maisonary drill, on normal speed until i get through the tile, then a hammer action. I also need to tape the tile, to stop the drill slipping.
Seeing I have no experiance I thought I would ask the experts.

I presume then normal ceramic tiles, you could use a tile drill. Ensure that any hammer action is off. Tape across where the hole needs to be. Then without pressing the drill trigger, manually gently push and twist the drill bit until you score the glaze (you should hear a slight clicking sound) then drill slowly through the tile (after that, switch to a normal masonary bit of the appropriate size). Alternatively if possible, place the holes where the grout is, but bear in mind you'll still probably need to get through the tile underneath, as mosaic tiles are usually either large embossed squares, or they may be held together with mesh.

Take your time, I've not cracked a tile ....... yet!
