Hi,

Looking to put some 6x6 posts in for some driveway gates I plan to build, 8ft span (4ft per gate)

I know I shouldn't use postcrete for this job and will need to use proper concrete.

Can anyone advise on the mix/ratios that should be used in this scenario?

I plan on digging down 2-2.5ft and 'belling' out the bottoms.

Cheers

Daft question but I was expecting 3 part ratio, ie 1 part cement / 2 part sand / 3 part gravel/ballast.... what am I missing with your suggested 3:1?

Sorry!

He's probably laying down the odds of your project going wrong!

Only kidding. Sorry I can't help.

Cheers, appreciated.

Test run on a small gate post (3ft) first with the mixer before moving onto the big uns!
