Would fluctuating mains gas pressure cause a combi boiler to intermittently make a droning (resonance) noise. The boiler is located in a cupboard and only makes the noise when the cupboard door is closed or nearly closed and usually occurs more often in the evening and only when it has been running for a while. The problem does not appear to be the pipe work. The boiler has been serviced recently with circuit board and other parts fitted

So its always ok with the door open then? Everything has a frequency of resonance.
