I have installed a new water inlet bit and new flush in the toile as the button stopped working and the water just kept coming in thru the inlet. Now eveything was fine initially except it was really noisy when it was filling up but also very fast so we left it. But a week after it ha now started dripping from somewhere near the inlet pipe.

Any idea what i need to do, i've tried tightening it but no joy and also can i do anything to reduce the noise it makes it sounds as tho the water pressure may be high but i have no way of telling. I don't think i did anything to change it all i did was turn the screw to turn the water on and off

Any help is gratefully received!!

what type of fill valve is it ?
it should of come with flow restrictors to place inside the inlet.
wheres it leaking from around the nut that joins to the bottom of the fill valve ?

Its a Jollifill from B&Q.

It seems to be leaking from the inlet valve where the water pipe joins. I've already tightened this.

Also I did put a red spiral thing in the inlet pipe but had to guess at the water pressure so went for the highest / longest option

don't over tighten it or you'll just stretch the plastic thread and split it.
i take it you never changed the fibre washer when fitting the new valve.

you may need to cut it down to the next level, depending on what your pressure is.

I replaced the whole inlet bit i presume it was all together.
do i need to get another washer?
