Its not the expense im thinking about but i have bought every electrical part in this fan apart from the turner motor so i basically have a full new setup but its not working... so unless i blew the new pcb board with the old motor like others suggested...
Electronics troubleshooting without much electronics knowledge is a bad idea, the cost of a suitably skilled person who could repair it is usually more than someone is prepared to pay so its best thrown out or replaced! the part to fix it may only cost tens of pence, but its the skill of the tech you pay for.
Saying that, maybe the battery is just dead in the remote!?
