I have had the above dyson for a few years and have had no problems until now. The hoover is only gliding on the carpet and there appears to be no suction. I have replaced the brush underneath but still nothing. Using the tools is ok .... plenty suction there. The brush does not appear to be turning whilst hoovering and after a period of time I can smell rubber. Does anyone know what could be wrong before I part with any dosh for a new one. Anyone's help would be appreciated. Thank you

As above, but you could check the belt that drives the brush, maybe needs changing and the ends of the brush are free from fluff, hairs etc which will stop the brush turning.

Usually 2 belts on the DC07 - one from the motor to the clutch and one from the clutch to the revolving brush....both need a look at.
There's also a filter hidden beneath the drum on these, under a clipped cover that gets forgotten, and on the early models the sole plate needs to be initially pressed against the carpet with your foot or it tends to float!
John :)
