Hi,

Was wondering if someone could tell me if there is still a need for earth bonding the central heating pipework in a domestic property. I know some of the regs have changed since the 17th edition came out and the house has a fully loaded RCD consumer unit now fitted. If so, is 6mm cable sufficient and is it possible to terminate at the main bonding to the incoming water or where otherwise?

Thanks

It depends if any of the heating pipes are extraneous conductive parts.

The size of the Main Equipotential Bond(s) will depend on what type of supply you have.

I think hes talking about sup bonding as opposed to main bonding.
So under 17th this isn't required as long as main bonding is in place + RCDs cover all circuits.

(that said, I still install sup bonding anyway)
