Not happy with the performance of this boiler & should of insisted the 831 be fitted (two years ago), had the gas safe installer back to carrry out a service & he said he would change the gas jet to one used for the 831 & just set it up with a electronic tool that measures exhaust fumes, surely this isnt the only difference between the 24/31?

Thanks sally.

Please post back the results , will save my next customer a few quid.

Wouldn't like to be in the 'engineers' shoes if performance doesn't improve..............'like a woman scorned'

Somebody's pulling a fast one!!
1) No Jet or Injector fitted to this boiler - it's a premix burner
2) Forget any extended warranty as the boiler will be seriously overfired
compared to the boiler data plate- any RGI willing to do this is foolish
to say the least!!!!!

You would after alter the software to make the boiler think it's an 831.

Sure it's not just ad simple ad that though.

Maybe the Vaillant boys can shed some light. :D , only £60 odd difference between the 24/31?

What is the difference between the two?.......

Air restrictor/gas injector?

Fan speed (adjustable?)

PlateHex/main?

Fan/zero governor?

Burner?

Only use the 31/37 so not sure regards the 24. :?

Off the top of my head, as I'm out:

824 has smaller main heat exchanger

Smaller burner to suit

Smaller plate heat exchanger

Different gas valve

And lastly different flow restrictor in cold inlet.

Yes you could alter the DSN but I doubt you could squeeze any more out of it, apart from taking appliance out of specification and being illegal

not looked into this one, but the potterton suprima's were the same except the injector on the 30,40 & 50,000 btu versions!

main hex burner, couple other minor bits and dsn. thats £500 please ta.
