I know you probably all get tired of "which boiler" questions but I am getting a new installation and I want to get the right boiler - I have some questions after having read previous posts.

1. Do GW Ultracom cxi30's still leak or is it now a good, reliable boiler? It has been recommended by an installer.
2. I know they are made by Vaillant so does that mean that the customer service issues relating to Vaillant also apply to GW?
3. Are there still issues with Vaillant's customer service i.e. it is poor?
4. There is a difference in cost between the Vaillant and WB compared to the GW. Do you really get what you pay for?
5. Of those three boilers, which one would you have in your house and is it the right size for the spec below.

It is a 3 bed house, 1 bathroom with shower, 1 kitchen, 8 rads (2 in garage) plus towel rail. At some point, perhaps in 4 to 6 years we may extend to include a further bedroom and an en suite.

We are replacing a warm air system, which does not have (and never has had) vents in two of the bedrooms. The water is heated by a Main Medway multipoint, which is miles away from the bathroom. Not sure about water pressure/flow.

would go for the vaillant everytime even with there crap customer service telephone line i fit 831's regularly and touch wood never had any problems

the worcester would be 2nd choice

and Glowworm wouldn't even be a choice as had too many failed units in the last few years hxi/cxi's

unfortunately too many people remember problems with previous Glowworm boilers.
However, I can assure you the Ultracom is a brilliant boiler, and its just as if not more reliable than the Vaillant. I don't know much about the WB as I don't touch them, they were designed by someone who hates service engineers. Impossible to work on. GW and Vaillant customer service does come in for some criticism, but my none of my customers have had to find out so its not an issue.

Have installed lots of CDI's, with no problems at all, so I would strongly reccommend them and WB as a company
