hi

Just about to restore a parquet floor for the first time. Along the edge between the skirting and the parquet they have used some kind of filler. It's in pretty bad condition so was gonna take the filler out but wondered what I should use to replace it?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

can you not lay in some hardwood?

I guess so. Just worried about getting a decent colour match etc. Thinking about it I think it would be easier to fit some new pieces all along the edges and put the skirting on top of that. I would think it would be a neater finish that way

Why don't you just fill the edge holes and get the same parquet batch to fill the spaces. You just need to calculate the width of the hole and cut the standard pieces to fit them there.
