efflorescence and wet/cold bricks after boiler upgrade?

Thanks for all the responses.

in reply:

The pic showing the pipe is indeed a gas pipe

The airing cupboard which houses the boiler isn't facing an outside wall and uses a vertical flue (out the roof)

Cant seem to spot any leakage internally on the ceiling or any of the walls inside

in the pic that doesnt show the pipe there is a porch roof above that wall, in the pic with the pipe there isnt any roofing etc covering that wall.

Its actually raining now so im going to inspect if anywhere is leaking, maybe it could be possible that rain is getting into the porch roof?

Oh also, i assume it would be safe to just wipe the limescale off the wall?

Thanks

dry brush to remove any lime and efflorescence.

If you try to wash it off with water or a wet sponge, you will tend to make it soak back into the wall.

If it was me I would also polish off that unsightly flux stain from the pipes with a nylon pan scourer.
