As I am not on mains gas and LPG/Oil are getting quite expensive has anyone got any views on electric central heating boilers and any recommendations.

Never understood the point of electric boilers; they combine the downsides of electric heating and central heating: expensive to install and expensive to run.

Expensive to run yeah, but I don't get the expensive to install bit.

Oh right, I see what you mean. I was thinking in relation to the cost of installing gas c/heating.

I already have an LPG gas boiler which is about 20 years old with 10mm pipes to the radiators which I have been told would exclude me from installing a GSHP without changing the pipework.

Electric radiators look to be around £300 each and I would need 10.

I could change my pipework and install GSHP but is there any data to show that I would definitely get a minimum COP value of 3.
