hi chaps, us gas lads allowed in here?

got a customer who refuses to increase the size of a radiator due to cost. she thinks it will be cheaper to fit an electric wall heater. fair do's if its just a case of banging a plug on it!
problem is she wants a decent looking one, not a B&Q jobby.

can anyone recommend a brand or model? probably only needs to be 1kw max load. oh yeah she wants a stat and timer.... (amongst other things)

thanks in advance.

Yeah, we'll speak to anybody.

You can get panel heaters (fixed) and oil filled radiators (on wheels) which have integral timers and thermostats and just plug in. They come in varying sizes depending on what customer wants to pay.

Any of the well known brands are alright. They do work quite well.

If they are that mean, then the customer should just get down to Argos and buy a cheap portable heater.
4152198 for example which has a timer, thermostat and can be wall mounted or free standing, it just plugs in. Plug included.

The oil filled ones can leak, but that is rare. Other than that, there is virtually nothing in electric heaters to go wrong, so make/model won't really matter.

The running costs will far exceed the cost of the larger radaitor, but some people just won't be told, and will be happy paying a cheap price for something which costs a fortune to run.

I'm sure it wouldn't be very hard to find a heater so poorly made as to be at risk of going wrong, possibly dangerously, particularly if low price is the most important criterion.

Go for a reputable make, and/or BEAB certified.

thanks chaps. found some nice looking rads on the dimplex site. i will point her to it and let her do the finger work. i have had enough now........

back off to the wetroom! lol
