Hi.
I have 6mm cable from CU (32a MCB) to Cooker Switch, then 6mm from CS to Cooker Outlet Plate.
I need some clarification on the flex I need from the COP to a 6.5kw Ikea electric hob please. No recommendation in the instructions. These are made by Whirlpool & on checking a similar hob on their site, they recommend 4mm HO5 RR-F.
Heat resistant would be preferable to 6mm T&E I think.
On searching the subject, there seem to be differing opinions.
HO5 or HO7? 2.5mm, 4mm or 6mm?
Thanks.

H07 has better tolerances to oil and grease, and is better suited to temporary outside use.
I'd stick with H05. That should be more than suitable.

As mentioned previously, stick with the manufacturers recommendations, then if you have any problems with the appliance, they can not blame it on the way it has been installed regarding the flex.

Thanks all.
I will fit 4mm2 HO5 based on your replies.
Do most electrical wholesalers (CEF, Rexel Senate etc.) stock this?
Thanks.

Call your local CEF, see if they have it in stock, they will cut it for you at the required length. So no need to buy a roll of it.
