we have a new Baumatic 6 ring gas hob which was installed profesionally within the last 6 months.
It has developed a fault where the ignitors are constantly firing on all of the 6 rings.
Just before this started to happen, I was cleaning it and it fired once and I received a shock and then the ignition stared to keep firing.
I have tried turning it on and off at the wall switch and also keeping the gas burning for a few minutes all to no avail - it is still firing constantly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bill

Have you split something into it, or has something boiled over? If the problem is not cured by drying it out, don't mess. Just ring the guy who installed it (if you bought it from him) or the retailer, and get them to sort it out. You have 12m g'tee, presumably?

Thanks very much securespark.

I turned off the power at the wall last night and when I turned it back on this morning it had sorted itself out and is not igniting by itself - very strange!

I guess it must have dried out although the only thing that I put on it was the cleaning solution I was using to clean it.

Thanks again for your reply much appreciated
Regards
Bill

Hi there,

The same thing has happened to my recently installed gas hob burner whilst I was cleaning it too thankfully I didn't receive a shock. I have turned it off from the mains and will leave it to dry out over night and see what happens.
