Hello All

I've used these forums in the past to find answers to questions but I now need to ask a question myself (apologies if there is an existing open topic about this)

My gas cooker died on me and I decided to switch to an electric one so I went and brought an Indesit IS50EW and I was wondering if this oven could just be plugged into a normal electric socket or do I need to have an electrician out to fit a seperate cooker circuit?

If its just wiring the oven to a plug then its something I can do myself (making sure I use heat resistant cable) but if it requires more indepth work I will find an electrician.

Thanks

Phil

Cheers for the advice, I will find an electrician to visit. Its something that I will need in the future anyway as I plan to have a new kitchen fitted and that will either have an electric hob/gas oven or vice versa.

Thanks

BAS, what about Induction Hob and electric oven?

because I heard induction hobs have a lot of the controlability of gas.

Will an induction hob allow the use of absolutely any cookware, no matter what it's made from?

Will an induction hob allow the use of a round-bottom wok?

Is an induction hob as physically robust as a gas one? Won't get damaged, for example, by sliding a cast-iron pan weighing over 10kg from one ring to another?
