my oven stopped working noticed one of the power cables on the heating element has popped off. (The cables really short) I've put the spade connector back on and tightened but I'm not happy with its seal and I'm sure it will come off again

Is solder a good way of sorting this out to make a decent joint it will all be sleeved over etc

Can you re-crimp the spade or crimp on a new spade?
You could solder the spade to the wire, but be careful not to damage any insulation of the wire, when doing this.

If the receptable

is not a very tight fit on the spade then it is advisable to use a new receptable.

Loose connections create heat and with a spade connection the heat reduces the spring force in the curled metal which results in a poor connection when the old receptable is re-used.

I don't think solder will work, the ends of an element will be fairly hot.
I'd lose the plastic bit of the crimp too, oversleeve with fibreglass heat sleeve.
