i have a k reg ford escort 1300l and the problem is lately the fan belt has been squealing so i changed it but after a while it started again then the next thing to go wrong the battery light came on then this caused a fuse to blow which affects the brightness of the main headlights it has also stopped the main beam from working and the temp and fuel gauge have ceased to work when i replace the fuse these faults will rectify but the battery light stays on and when the brake peddle is depressed it illuminates more but the fuse blows virtually straight away anyone got any ideas cheers.
