Hi,

I have just purchased a new house but unfortunately the electric shower has stopped working.

I have used this once since we moved in and it seemed to be fine.

Now the switch in the cupboard opposite the bathroom, when turned on, does not light up and therefore no power to the shower unit.

The main fuse box shows no tripped switches.

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

Regards,

Its probably the switch that has gone duff or a loose connection within the switch has burnt the switch/cables out.
It could also be a faulty Mcb.
First things first switch off your Shower circuit and have a look inside the switch or post photo of the inside of the switch and fuseboard for us we love pics!!. :D
If you are in any doubt about the circuit or the switch do not even attempt this and call an Electrician.
