electric shower fault

hi there

im hoping someone can help...i recently replace a pull cord switch on my 9.5kw triton electric shower...i had a habbit of turning off the shower using the pull cord (bad i know) iv replaced the switch wired it correctly and it worked fine for a day or two but now it cuts out after about 5 mins or so any ideas?
plus when i replaced the switch some of the wires were a bit blackened / burnt...should these have been trimmed?

Yes, back to 'new' wire.

Do that and tighten the terminals.
