the root problem is you've had a cowboy job done by an idiot mate sorry 'electrician' who doesn't use a reputable wholesaler, issues no paperwork nor carries out any testing to ensure correct operation.
As you are now finding out you are having a number of issues with your installation which is now costing you time and money so money saved is now been wasted!
BTW i hope you have informed your local LABC and paid your fees and also notified your insurance company that you have had a mate do a cu change as any insurance claim resulting from this situation you have created will now be invalidated once they inspect the install.
